Pros: Has you basic I/O interfaces with some extras. Supports DDR2 or DDR3 RAM. Stable at default clocking (I purchased this with the intention NOT to overclock). Low power consumption means low heat output. Fits the void for a shrinking market.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I purchased this to setup a local environmental monitor running Linux (CLI only), and some extras, to process some input/output for some homebrew sensors I have made. Added a four port serial PCIe card and a two port serial PCI card for a total of seven serial interfaces for my sensors. Combined with the onboard parallel interface I have all the ports I need in a small form factor, low power monitor. Sometimes you just need a small simple system like this and, in the world of gaming, this fits a shirking market. I liked it so much I just ordered another for my next homebrew project.
Pros: none
Cons: pure junk
Overall Review: wast of time andmoney
one egg to list

Pros: Works good for the budget build I did, has plenty of room for everything, PSU worked for my needs
Cons: None
Pros: Price
Everything is there
It gets the job done
Cons: None if you use it as intended
Overall Review: I bought this to put in an old eMachine case and bring it back to life. Purpose, act as storage and file server for an old Bridgeport CNC machine. Write the programs on the control and send them to the computer, then send it back. I had a case, power supply and memory lying around in the junk box. Also had an old socket A eMachine. Toss the guts, use the case, loaded up Windows XP Home, Installed Service Pack 3 and away we went. Runs perfect and stable. No problems at all. Put in a wireless card so we can write programs in the office and pass them to the computer and then to the CNC. People, it is what it is. Got some junk lying around and want to build a functional computer for under $75 bucks, well here you go. Looking for something that's a bargain and going to run like that $500 machine at the big box store, well, maybe you need to spend a little more.
Pros: Super low cost, compatability with DDR2-533 / 667 / 800, and DDR3-800. TONS of built-in voltage adjustment and bus speed / multiplier adjustment for processor and memory. PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (functions as x8) slot for performance graphics card. Low power consumption. Runs Windows 7, Linux, or whatever you want. Drivers work great.
Cons: The Atheros LAN driver from the AS-Rock website for Windows 7 is terrible. Use the 'stock' Windows 7 driver, and it has no problems at all. Other than that, all the drivers work great and install without any problems.
Single Core performance is what's expected - lagging. It's a good board, but you have to be realistic about it. Windows XP would probably be a lot better on it, but just about everything requires Windows 7 now, and most people feel like their stuck in the dark ages if you try to put XP on one of their rigs anyway. Even newer Linux distros with Compiz and desktop effects will struggle.
Overall Review: Don't try to overclock this board. Yes, you can, but I/O errors due to poor overclocked performance will result in what ultimately feels like a slower experience. Run it at 1.8 GHz and at your memory's set speed, and simply be aware that if you're using Win 7 or any newer OS that you will run best with Widgets off and the Classic Theme. If you can live with that, then you'll have no problems with running Office / Media Player / Bit Torrent / Instant Messenger / Gimp or Photoshop / Email / iTunes / and all that daily stuff that most people do. Don't even think about trying to 'game' on this - it's going to drag a little under normal daily tasks, but it is very stable, very high quality, and will do the job for a long time to come.
Pros: Price and ease of installation
Cons: Crashes and refuses to allow complete OS updates and have tried Vista, Win 7, and Win 8. Runs fine until installing OS updates, will get anywhere from 65-95% and then freeze up and you have to reinstall EVERYTHING all over (have not been able to create back up or restore points either). Even with a GeForce 210 VC (yes cheap but still should get the job done) it struggles with any video and is VERY choppy.
Overall Review: If you dont want to update and plan to use it for nothing other than checking email or maybe browsing sites that arent to heavy on video or other features youre fine. Ask it to play a dvd or blu-ray (Blu-ray Combo Model ihes112-04) and youre asking too much.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. For the freeze issue, please set the UEFI BIOS default (press F9 in BIOS), save and exit, test with either 1 memory stick in DDRII_1 slot or DDR3_1, try with another DDR2 memory if it's same issue. Pros: I have found that this mobo installs very easily and the hook ups from the psu are a snap to use.
Cons: If you don't know about booting from the cd/dvd drive it can drive you nuts at first. Once I got past this, by reading a book about custom computer builds, it was a snap.
Overall Review: at first I could not get the board to run to accept the cd with the drivers on it. But after looking at the quick home screen, I figured it out by tapping F-11 when I booted up and booted from the cd/dvd drive. Simple once we understand. I am going to purchase another one for my fourth custom build.
