Method 1:

Disconnect all the external devices (printers, scanner, USB (Universal Serial Bus) drives, etc...)Except mouse and the keyboard and then boot up.

If this corrects the issue then add the devices back one at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any updated driverssoftware for the device.

a)Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel.

b)In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Hardware and Sound, click Configure a device.‌

c)If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Method 3:

If the above step does not help us to diagnose the issue, uninstall the drivers for USB [Universal Serial bus] host controller and restart the computer. Let Windows install the generic drivers and then see if it helps you to fix the issue.

a)Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, then Device Manager in the search box.‌

b)If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

c)Look for the device under USB [Universal Serial bus] host controller, right click on it and select Uninstall.

d)Reboot the computer.

e)On reboot, Windows 7 should re-install the drivers automatically.
